Lucy's Sydney Marathon for Charli
My name is Lucy, and I'm running the Sydney Marathon to raise money for blood cancer research!
This cause is very close to my heart because in February 2026, my twin sister, Charli, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. A diagnosis like this teaches you many things: how to be afraid, how to be brave, and how to attempt a smile through it all. My family and Charli have learnt these things very well.
My goal here is to spread awareness about Hodgkin's Lymphoma and support our researchers pushing for breakthroughs. The Sydney Blood Cancer Research Institute supports laboratory research, clinical research, supportive care research, and the provision of specialised care to haematology patients. By funding cutting-edge clinical trials and pioneering immune therapies right here at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, the Institute directly accelerates access to life-saving treatments that give patients and their families real hope for a cure.
